Entry 3: The Chosen Idea - KEV-4 and Dom’s Whimsically Great Escape, a puzzle arcade co-op game with character-based controllers inc. Leap Motion and Joysticks (9 June 2018)

I've chosen KEV-4 and Dom’s Whimsically Great Escape, a puzzle arcade co-op game with character-based controllers inc. Leap Motion and Joysticks, because I see potential in it as much as how portfolio worthy it'll be. I'll explain why so:

-Idea requires 3D modelling and animation.
-Posses a very interesting experience with the controllers and co-op experience.
-Idea needs a very strong UI and feedback to have a better UX.
-Idea uses Leap Motion and custom-made controller.
-Feasibility wise, I'm confident that I can build this game. I think.
-THIS IDEA IS REALLY RISKY IN THE MARKET BUT IT'LL BE QUITE IMPRESSIVE.

My goal for choosing this idea is to have a better chance of getting an internship into the game industry instead of design/content creating industries.

The reasons of not choosing the 2.5D side-scroller or the Vitamin D Tracker are :-

-Cinematic 2.5D side-scroller:-
-It's a plan B, too safe and generic.
-Only visuals is new. Not the gameplay experience.
  -"Just another indie side-scroller.
  -Not impressive enough.
-Doesn't quite stand out from the game ideas by classmates.
-Feasibility wise, I'm confident that I can build this game. No doubt.
-NOT ATTRACTIVE ENOUGH ACCORDING TO MY OPINION

-Vitamin D Tracker:-
-Not actually interest with this idea but I do interest for its functionality.
-Important but doesn't meet my goal.
-Idea requires a specific hardware that I'm not familiar with.

Entry 21 : Building The Crank - 3D printing

This entry will be discussing about the continuity development for decorating the MO-3 crank. I've 3D modelled 3 items for printings: - 2 Handles (UpDown and LeftRight) - KEV-7 Leap Motion holder I took atleast 2 days prototyping the size of the 3D printed prototypes to see if it fits in the crank's handle. It took few prototype to find the correct scale. After settled with the correct scale, I've loaded up the Tronxy X1 3D printer with the handles. The first print was a success while not so for the other print. It was too big and technical error that causes the model to be displaced in layers. Thus, I loaded the same model and printed it again. It failed due to knotted 3D filaments. Third try was a success. Total it took 2 full nights to fully print 2 handles. After that I've loaded KEV-7 Leap Motion holder into a bigger 3D printer (beside FabLab's main Mac) and start printing the model. Due to too much pink 3D filaments, Ron and I decided to use the p...
